English Language Development Teacher

Summary / Objective: 

The English Language Development Teacher supports Classroom Teachers to successfully guide English Language Learners towards gaining proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, in order to achieve in all academic areas. He / she uses effective learning strategies to increase teacher English Language Learning knowledge and student confidence in participating in all English language classes. 

Handling a classroom of students and teaching them the oral practice course that has been assigned. Planning and executing the marketing activities for the school. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom and activities.

Essential Functions:

• At least 80 teaching hours a month. Students aging from 3 to 12.
• Prepare and deliver instructional activities, and create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in, and ensure the quality of service.
• Giving feedbacks to parents according to each levels’ teaching aims and inform them of their child’s development in school, fill out the class records and assign the homework for each class before and after school accordingly.
• Planning and executing the Class orientation, Open-day and other activities for the school.
• Regular maintain and disinfected the classroom and the teaching materials every month.    
• Develop incentives to keep participants in training and evaluation from the school.
• Provide oral English training for Chinese teachers according to the plan of the Teacher Training Department on Professional Development Project.
• Contribute to the needs of the school as a whole.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Expertise in teaching in an elementary ELD program.
• Coaching and designing and providing Professional Development experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledgeable about recent research in pedagogy in the field of English Language education.
• Possesses sensitivity to developmental stages and well-being of children.
• Flexible to adapt to the teaching needs of the students and the school. 

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Wednesday through Sunday as follows. 

Wednesday 13:00-21:00
Thursday 13:00-21:00
Friday 13:00-21:00
Saturday 10:00-18:00
Sunday 10:00-18:00
