KET TEACHING JOBS IN THAILAND-SALARY & BENEFITS:

The salary is 30,000 - 35,000 Baht/Monthly

Assistance finding accommodation as 99% of schools don't provide free housing-rent & utilities is always a personal responsibility; however, they are inexpensive!

The contract period is preferably an entire school year, which is May-March.

Pre School, Kindergarten, Elementary Schools, and Secondary Schools are available.

School locations are in Thailand's Central, Northern & North Western regions.

School positions include private schools, public schools, language schools (small classes), international schools, and university positions; however, employment in international schools and a university depends on qualifications such as a teacher's license from your home country plus a Masters's Degree or a PGCE and a Masters's Degree. Jobs in international schools are very rare due to the demand for extensive qualifications.

Between 18-25 lessons per week- (Typically 50 minutes duration per lesson)

If you are a first-time teacher or even a veteran teacher, but this is your first time teaching English or other subjects in Thailand, we recommend taking the Teach in Thailand Program Training Course. 

The teach abroad training program location is in the beautiful province of Sukhothai & introduces you to Thai Culture, Thai Language & Thai Schools, and an excursion to one of Thailand's most impressive World Heritage Sites, The Sukhothai Historical Park, the first-ever Capital City of Thailand 800 years ago.

Successful applicants receive a guaranteed Job in a Thai School teaching English, or if qualifications permit, a job teaching Math, Science, Health, Sport, or IT.

Teachers receive assistance with the paperwork for the Non-Immigrant B Visa, Work Permit & Teaching License.

TEACHING JOBS IN THAILAND-QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

No previous experience is necessary for English Teaching jobs in Thailand and other subject teaching jobs because KET provides training!

The requirements for teaching jobs in Thailand for foreign teachers are:

A Bachelor's Degree in any subject

The ability to commit to an entire school year contract. Sometimes six-month contracts are available. 

You must bring your original Degree, certificates & transcripts to Thailand.

The Degree should be legalized in your home country and then authenticated at the Thai Embassy in your Home Country.

Possibly TEFL certification from an online TEFL course or an in-person TEFL course to be a certified TEFL teacher or an ESL teacher. (Beneficial)

SECURING AN ENGLISH TEACHING JOB AS A NON-NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER:

In Thailand, if you are not a holder of a passport from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, or New Zealand, you will be required to take a TOEIC test.

The TOEIC Test Score is needed to demonstrate your English Proficiency level. Non-native English speakers can take the TOEIC Test at centers across 160 countries, including Thailand. 

A bachelor's Degree (in any subject).

TEFL certification can be an online TEFL Course or in-person (beneficial, not mandatory).

TOEIC score of 600 or IELTS score of 5+.

A clean criminal background check from the home country of the teacher.

A clean health check.

These are just the requirements for processing the Non-Immigrant B Visa to teach English in Thailand. Each employer will also have its provisions for individual learning roles. These can range from holding a degree in education or a related field to having prior teaching experience or merely showing enthusiasm for Thai culture and language. Coming to teach in Thailand with Kids English Thailand (KET) is the easiest way to secure a teaching job and receive assistance processing the visa, teacher license, and work permit.

TEACH IN THAILAND JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an instructional teacher in your classroom, you will help your eager students improve their communication skills by introducing classroom activities and learning activities to your classroom.

Often KET offers teaching opportunities in other fields, not only English teacher jobs; these include mathematics, science, technology, computers, social science, and physical education. On our apply now page, applicants should note their ability to teach other language subjects. Higher salaries are offered to people who can teach other subjects using the English language.

THE TEACH IN THAILAND TRAINING COURSE:

The teach in Thailand training course fee is 6,000 baht.

The teaching abroad program is comprised of two parts:

 Esl Teacher/TEFL Teacher Thailand Focused Training Course (2-3 days)

Teaching Job (Typically one year)

The teaching English in Thailand training program components include:

Presentation and discussion about Thai culture, history, politics, and society to grant exposure and help you navigate your new environment.

Thai language classes

Practical training in teaching listening, speaking, reading, and writing, including comprehensive lesson plan development and presentation and feedback from your instructor.

Lots of tips, tricks, and examples of how to teach English to every age group and where to find resources.

Advice and guidance for effective classroom management.

An excursion to one of Thailand's most impressive World Heritage Sites

Advice and guidance on where to best buy groceries etc. Plus much more!

ACCOMMODATION DURING TRAINING:

Accommodation during the training course and your teaching job will vary. KET uses a variety of different accommodation types in Sukhothai. Accommodations are classic Thai, and the rooms have air-con and Wi-Fi and are conveniently located for the training location.

MEALS DURING TRAINING:

Lunch is provided during training. If you don't like the option, you can order using a food app and get food delivered or go to a local restaurant or food stall.  Breakfast and dinner will be your responsibility, and KET will take you to local traditional Thai markets and teach you about the different options for buying food in Thailand.

SUPPORT STAFF DURING TRAINING:

Instructor: Learn from his comprehensive knowledge of Thailand, Thai Culture, Thai Language & his Thailand, China & England Teaching Experience.

Thai Team: The Thai team is a crucial support network that you will have in-country. The Thai Team is responsible for placing the teacher in the right school & province, and they'll continue to support you once you begin teaching and living there.
