Job Description

Jobdesc & Responsibilities : 

  1. Teach English to SD, SMP & SMA in accordance with academic programs agreed upon between Company and partner schools.

  2. Prepare lessons in accordance with the program being taught that :

  1. broadly follow prepared lesson plans and utilize provided materials if the program being taught is General English Speaking – SD (Elementary), SMP (Junior High School), SMA (Senior High School), SMK (Technical School).

  2. To prepare lesson plans and relevant materials of the school’s English curriculum or if the school insists upon daily lesson plans.

  3. To use the textbook provided. The Teacher must be sensitive to cultural and religious differences and endeavor not to embarrass or offend any student.

  1. Monitor, access and provide feedback on each student’s progress four times a year, December and May and mid terms.  In the event that the curriculum taught by the Teacher includes writing, this includes marking and providing written feedback to students on written work according to the needs of individual schools.

  2. Maintain accurate records and work log with respect to student assessments, student attendance and the Teacher’s individual attendance and outline of lessons during scheduled work hours. 

  3. Provide student assessment details, for student reports, to the school’s English coordinator as required.

  4. Provide general academic support to local English teachers with respect to the local English teacher’ academic responsibilities.

  5. You must be on time to all classes according to the schedule of the school and must arrive at the designated school/teaching location at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of school hour unless otherwise agreed upon with the appropriate school personnel in order to be adequately prepared for their classes.

  6. Attend and participate in training sessions, meetings and workshops organised by the Coordinator of the school or the Company to improve the quality of teaching.

  7. Provide general academic support to colleagues of Company as may be required from time-to-time.

  8. Participate in social and promotional events for students. These may include giving demonstration lessons, attending seasonal activities, proofreading of English letters or documents, serving as a judge for foreign language contests, and cooperating in receiving reporters and other visitors, participating in English Clubs, School Camps or whatever activities outside of teaching that the school deems necessary to promote the learning of English.

  9. Assist and make a positive contribution to the recruitment of new students by, among other activities, conducting demonstration lessons, placement testing, and advising on appropriate classes / lessons for students.

  10. To be available to teach at other schools as directed by Company, and to be on stand-by when required, such as covering classes for teachers who are sick, or who have approved absences, if timetables permit.

  11. To undertake any other work duties in any related areas, including, but not limited to student testing, counseling, and helping in the production of curriculum materials.

  12. Lateness is unacceptable. In the event that you may be late, you must notify the appropriate school personnel (one) hour before. After two infractions without adequate explanations and all subsequent times you may be asked to terminate your employment.

  13. Absences of more than 3 (three) days in each semester without notice may result in the termination of your employment without severance.

  14. Your school may have an attendance sheet for you to sign and you must keep a log for Company which is signed by a school official each time you are at a school.  The log should be forwarded to the Company at month's end.

Our salary is typically higher than other language institutions. The average salary of our teachers is equivalent to managerial positions in banks, with half the working period. 

2. Accommodation allowance
