The Teacher is required to prepare, deliver and reflect on lessons using EF Education First content in line with EF methodologies for classroom delivery. The Teacher is expected to follow EF systems of learner management to ensure a high level of teaching quality and learner satisfaction.
They may also have additional responsibilities which relate to the mentoring, coaching or training of other teachers within their school or region.
Working Schedule
40 hours per week inclusive of classroom teaching hours
Classroom teaching up to an average of 30ACH per week during non-peak seasons and 40ACH per week during peak seasons
It is possible to teach more than 30ACH one week and fewer than 30ACH the next week, averaging out over the calendar month
1ACH = 40 minutes
5 days per week during non-peak season and up to 6 days per week in peak seasons
Any work carried out beyond the 40 hour working week is subject to overtime remuneration
Teachers may be required to work morning and afternoon shifts in the same day
Teachers can be assigned to any of the EF centres within the city but are generally based in a single centre

Role Description
Prepare lessons and equipment in advance for all classes follow EF procedures and policies
Carry out scheduled classes as assigned by the DoS
Begin and end classes on time
Deliver lessons to the highest standards of English Language Teaching
Develop and use appropriate supplementary materials as and when required
Use audio / video materials in classes
Become familiar with and implement the Efekta Course Management Procedures
Substitute for absent colleagues, perhaps at short notice, on or off-site
Inform students of centre aims and objectives
Carry out teaching related responsibilities including but not limited to demonstration classes, Life Clubs, workshops and
presentations as required by the DoS
Be familiar with the administrative procedures required by the centre
Meet regularly with the DoS to communicate all relevant information
Maintain student and class records
Administer, grade, correct and record the results of progress reports, tests and assessments for students
Take on administrative work and but not limited to, cataloguing supplementary materials and organizing extra-curricular events, as directed by the DoS or other manager
Become familiar with all EF courses offered at the centre
Cooperate with the Centre Director and DoS in ensuring constructive communication and efficient centre operations
Attend any and all relevant staff meetings
Be responsible for students’ welfare and progress
Assist DoS with induction of sales, service and academic staff into the centre practices upon request
Assist in the placement testing and interviewing of new students
Assist DoS with development and marketing of courses upon request
Keep the teachers’ room, equipment and resources well-organized and in good condition
Attend centre social events
Attend any and all developmental meeting with DoS and other development manager(s)
