Nowadays, more and more foreign students whose parents are Chinese citizens or a parent has Chinese nationality tend to apply to Chinese universities. The Ministry of Education of China announced that it will implement the policy on the admission of such students to higher education institutions on January 1, 2021.
1. Students whose parents are both Chinese citizens or one of them is a Chinese citizen, and students should also:
Ø Acquired foreign nationality at birth
Ø Have lived in a foreign country for a least 2 years (in the last 4 years).
Ø Hold a foreign passport (validity: 4 years and left as of 2021)
2. Students who have attended high school in China will have a college exam prior to apply for colleges to study in China, they also should:
Ø One or both of there are parents are Chinese citizens
Ø Have a foreign nationality
Ø Have not lived in a foreign country for more than 2 years (in the last 4 years.)
Ø Have presented Chinese Permanent Residence Identity Card
Students whose nationality is not clearly defined:
Ø Make judgements according to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China
Ø Verify their nationality status with the local security organs
